Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep 10242B Pentastar 3.6 Engine Lifting Brackets

The Mopar 3.6 engine, also known as the Pentastar engine, has a unique design that requires specific engine lifting brackets to remove and replace the engine. This is because the engine block has no lifting points or bosses built into it, a common feature in many other engines. 

The Pentastar engine lacks lifting points due to its lightweight and compact design, intended to improve fuel efficiency and performance. However, this also means the engine must be lifted carefully and precisely to avoid damaging its components. 

The specific engine lifting brackets are designed to securely attach to the engine around the exhaust manifold area and curve around the cams to distribute the weight evenly, allowing for safe and easy removal and installation. 

This setup must be used during engine removal and installation procedures on the 3.6 L Engine. Lifting Chains are not permitted. NOTE: 10242-1 is used on the Driver's side, and 10242-2 is used on the Passenger's side.

It's important to note that attempting to lift the Pentastar engine without these specific brackets can damage the engine or result in personal injury. Therefore, it is always recommended that you use the proper tools and equipment when working on this engine.
