DATE: Georgian, c.1780

A pretty, and somewhat unusual, Georgian locket formed as a purse with gold fittings, a handle and a glass front and back. It's hinged along the top edge, and opens to allow for storage of a small photo or keepsake. Crafted in 15 karat gold with a  small jump ring for wear on a chain - dating from the Georgian period, circa 1780.
